The wolf and the eagle occupy a singular place in Turkic visual culture. The wolf — Bozkurt, the Grey Wolf — appears in the founding myths of the Gökturks as a guide and ancestor figure, a symbol of endurance, loyalty, and the will to survive against overwhelming odds. On this ring, both figures are engraved in relief across the face and band. Set at the center is a red fire amber stone. Amber has been traded and worn across Anatolia since antiquity; the deep red variety, sometimes called fire amber, carries a warmth and depth that shifts with the light, moving between orange, burgundy, and near-black depending on the angle.
