Sultanite — also known as diaspore or zultanite — is found in only one place on earth: the Milas district of Muğla, Turkey. It is one of the rarest color-changing gemstones in the world, shifting from a warm kiwi green in daylight to a champagne pink or raspberry red under incandescent light. This optical phenomenon, known as pleochroism, is caused by the stone’s unique crystal structure and the way it absorbs different wavelengths of light depending on the angle and source of illumination. No two sultanite stones change color in exactly the same way, which means every ring is singular.

This ring sets a natural red-toned sultanite in solid 925 sterling silver. The stone is faceted to maximize its color-shift effect and set in a clean, architectural band that works equally well on any hand.
