The face of this ring is a square panel set with micron zircon stones in a pavé arrangement. The square form — alongside the rectangle and octagon — is one of the foundational geometric shapes in Ottomandecorative metalwork, appearing in signet rings, belt fittings, and engraved panels across the classical period. Micron zircon setting, in which very small stones are set closely together to cover a surface, is a technique that became widespread in fine silver and gold jewelry production in Turkey and the broader region, building on earlier traditions of stone-set Ottomancourt jewelry.
