The face of this ring is set with a natural red fire amber stone engraved with an OttomanTughra (tuğra) and the word Gönül — an OttomanTurkish word that carries no direct English equivalent. Gönül means the heart not as an organ but as the seat of the soul: the inner self, sincerity, longing, and spiritual depth. It appears throughout classical Ottomanpoetry, Sufi literature, and court culture as the highest expression of the human interior. The Tughra was the calligraphic monogram of the OttomanSultan — an intricate, legally binding seal used on imperial edicts, coins, and official correspondence for over six centuries. Together, these two symbols — the sovereign emblem and the word for the soul — form a ring that speaks to both power and inner life.

The stone is natural red fire amber (kehribar), hand-engraved and set in solid 925 sterling silver with hand-oxidized detailing on the band. The oxidized finish deepens the carved surfaces and gives the ring its characteristic aged, editorial quality.
