It was carried into battle, raised over conquered cities, flown from the masts of the Ottomannavy in the Mediterranean. By the time the empire reached its height in the 16th century, it was one of the most recognized symbols in the world. When the empire ended, the symbol did not. It passed into the flags of successor states, into the consciousness of millions of people who trace their heritage to that civilization.

This medallion carries that image. The Ottomanflag is engraved at the center of a solid 925 sterling silver disc, surrounded by traditional engraving patterns on the border. The pendant is substantial — available in 3.5 cm and 4 cm widths — and the chain runs from 45 to 75 cm, covering every wearing preference from collar-length to chest. The combination of the large pendant and the engraved border gives the piece the weight and presence of something that is meant to be noticed.
