Black Onyx Coral Micro Stone Ring 925 Sterling Silver Oxidized Handcrafted

Onyx is a form of chalcedony — a microcrystalline quartz — and black onyx in particular has been used in jewelry and amulets since antiquity. In Ottomanand Seljuk jewelry traditions, black stones were frequently paired with silver in an oxidized finish: the deliberate darkening of the metal through a sulfur compound process that settles into the recesses of engraved surfaces, making the carved detail legible against the darkened ground. The result is a surface that reads as aged, worked, and substantial — the opposite of the high-polish finish that erases the evidence of the hand.

This ring combines three materials in a single composition: a black onyx center stone, set in a raised bezel; coral accent stones on either side, their warm red-orange providing a direct chromatic contrast to the onyx; and micro CZ stones set into the engraved band, catching light within the oxidized surface. The engraving on the shoulders of the band is worked in a pattern consistent with Ottomandecorative metalwork — geometric and foliate forms that frame the stone setting without competing with it.
