The Gökturk script — the oldest known writing system of the Turkic peoples — was carved into stone monuments across the Orkhon Valley of present-day Mongolia in the 8th century. The Orkhon inscriptions, erected in memory of the Gökturk khagans Kültigin and Bilge Kagan, are among the earliest surviving examples of Turkic political and philosophical thought: records of campaigns, losses, and the relationship between the ruler and the people. The script itself — angular, running right to left, adapted from Sogdian — was used across the Eurasian steppe from the 6th to the 10th century before being displaced by Arabic script following the conversion to Islam.

The börü — the wolf — was the founding symbol of the Gökturk Khaganate. According to the founding myth, the Turkic people were led out of the Iron Mountains by a grey wolf, and the wolf standard was carried by Gökturk cavalry across campaigns from Anatolia to the borders of Tang China. The Oguz Kagan seal — the tamga of the legendary ancestor of the Oghuz Turks, from whom the Ottomandynasty traced its lineage — represents the broader continuity of Turkic political identity across two millennia.

This medallion brings those three layers together in solid 925 sterling silver. The front face carries a relief-engraved wolf head with Gökturk script across the top. The reverse carries the Oguz Kagan seal at center, surrounded by the tamgas of the 16 Turkic states — a cartographic record of Turkic political history from the Hunnic period to the Ottomanera. The medallion hangs on a King chain, available in 2 mm or 2.2 mm thickness and lengths of 50, 55, 60, or 65 cm.
