Each sultan had his own, and it was the mark of sovereign authority. This ring carries that seal engraved on its face, rendered in precise silverwork on a wide, flat surface designed to hold the detail of the design.

At the center of the tuğra sits a polished black onyx stone. Onyx has been used in Anatolian and Islamic jewelry for centuries — a stone associated with grounding, clarity, and protection.
