Fire amber — known in Turkish as ateş kehribarı — is a variety of amber distinguished by its deep red-orange color and the way it appears to glow from within when held to light. Unlike the more common honey-yellow amber, fire amber has a saturated, warm tone that ranges from burnt orange to deep crimson depending on the thickness of the stone and the angle of the light. It is a natural resin fossil, formed over millions of years, and each piece carries a slightly different internal structure — no two stones are identical.

The stone is set in a claw mount — four silver prongs rising from the band to grip the stone at its edges, holding it elevated above the surface of the ring. The claw setting is one of the oldest and most structurally direct ways to mount a stone: it maximizes the visible surface area of the gem while keeping it secure. On this ring, the claws are worked in the Ottoman style, with slightly tapered tips and clean lines that frame the stone without competing with it.
